The Sustainability in Action Awards
Together, businesses can do well while doing good.
If you've ever found a way to waste less, looked out for your staff, treated a customer right, or simply run your business with a little more care - that's sustainability. You don't need a fancy strategy or a certificate to prove it. We just want to hear about it, celebrate it with you, and help you take your next step.
Two minutes to get the full picture, then about 15-20 minutes to complete your one-time entry.
Jointly curated and organised by Sustainable Markets SG and AUD'NCO, part of Christmas Together 2026
Here's What's In It for You

It's Probably Simpler Than You Think
Sustainability sounds big. In practice, it usually isn't. It covers three things - tap each card to see what it actually looks like for a business like yours.
Planet
Waste, materials, and how you use resources.
What it means
Taking care of the environment - the materials you use, the waste you create, and how you package, store or ship your products.
Sound like you?
Switched to reusable or compostable packaging. Used offcuts instead of tossing them. Cut down on single-use items in your shop or studio.
People
How you treat your staff, customers and community.
What it means
How you treat and support the people connected to your business - your staff, your customers, and your community.
Sound like you?
Given your team flexible hours. Supported a local cause. Made your shop or products easier for more people to access.
Responsible Business
Running things honestly, day to day.
What it means
How you run your business responsibly day to day - where you get your materials from, how honest you are with customers, and how you make decisions for the long run.
Sound like you?
Chosen suppliers you trust. Been upfront about pricing or ingredients. Kept things simple and honest with customers.
However many of these felt familiar - that's exactly where we start. You'll pick which ones apply to your business in a moment, and there's no need to tick every box.
Everything Else You Might Want to Know
We know progress looks different for every business - that's why there are four ways to be recognised, not just one.
| Category | What it recognises |
|---|---|
| Champion | The highest recognition - for brands showing strong, well-rounded impact across their business. |
| Trailblazer | For brands that found creative, resourceful ways to make sustainability work within their means. |
| Community Impact | For brands that created meaningful impact for people - employees, customers or their community. |
| Rising Star | For emerging or smaller brands taking promising first steps. |
Assessed by an independent panel against four criteria:
| Criterion | Weight | In plain terms |
|---|---|---|
| Action & Impact | 40% | What did you actually do, and what changed because of it? |
| Innovation & Resourcefulness | 20% | How creatively did you make it work with what you had? |
| Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement | 20% | Who did you involve - staff, customers, suppliers, community? |
| Sustainability Journey & Influence | 20% | Are you continuing to build on this, and could it inspire others? |
Assessed by an independent panel of judges with domain expertise across sustainability, retail and business, including confirmed judging partner TรV SรD.

A Few Things to Know Before You Begin
- This takes about 15-20 minutes, done in one sitting. There's no login, so make sure you've got a bit of uninterrupted time before you start.
- You'll see exactly how far along you are the whole way through.
- You'll need: your business contact details, a few honest sentences about what you've done, and a link to a folder with your evidence (photos, receipts, screenshots - we'll show you how in a moment).
- If something comes up and you can't finish, don't worry - we'll already have your contact details from the first step, so we can follow up and make sure you don't miss the 30 September deadline.
Here's How It Works, Step by Step
We've kept this as simple as we can, because we know your time is precious.
- 1Tell Us Who You Are
Your business and contact details - just the basics, so we know who we're talking to.
- 2Share How You Create Impact
Tell us, in your own words, what your business has been doing for the Planet, your People, or as a Responsible Business. Big or small, it all counts.
- 3Submit Simple Evidence
A photo, a receipt, a screenshot - that's often enough, shared with us via a simple link.
- 4Review and Send It Our Way
One last look before you submit - then you're done.
- 5Be Seen, Celebrated and Connected
Get recognised at Christmas Together, receive genuine guidance from our team, and be considered for partner opportunities.
